Thai Style Noodle House at 3516 Wynn Road was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after inspectors hit the restaurant with 50 demerits and an imminent health hazard on April 10.
The routine inspection uncovered no hot or potable water at the restaurant, which triggered the immediate shutdown. On top of that, inspectors found food unprotected from potential contamination, an inadequate number of hand washing sinks, inaccurate thermometers, single use items reused and much more.
SNHD inspectors shut down the restaurant in 2011 with 43 demerits. Other inspections are all over the place dating back to 2007.
One other restaurant came close to shutdown by SNHD. The newest Taco y Taco at 9470 S. Eastern Ave. received 39 demerits on April 10. Violations included food unprotected from potential contamination, food handlers not washing their hands properly and an inadequate number of hand washing sinks.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
