Guy Fieri Bravely Invites Yelpers in for Opening Night

Here's one way Guy Fieri can combat negative reviews of his new restaurant opening at the Quad on Thursday — invite a bunch of Yelpers to sample it first. Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen & Bar is inviting 20 lucky Yelpers to be the first to experience the "flavor-tastic" food of his new restaurant. Yelpers will "mingle" with the mayor of Flavortown for photos.

It seems there are four things fans have to do to get in on the Flavortown experience. First, RSVP for a lottery chance to get in. Second, have a "real photo and full name on your profile." Then, have some recent reviews. Finally, comment on whether "you ever tried to recreate a recipe you saw on DDD."

Already one eager Yelper, Alby P. from Los Angeles, gave the restaurant five stars and sampled Vegas fries and the bacon mac and cheese burger. Alby also witnessed Fieri fire two staff members, one for falling asleep during training and another for texting. "If that's how serious you are about your job I don't need you."

Already the Vegas food cognoscenti are getting excited about the opening. "Hype or no hype, I'm cautiously optimistic about Fieri's food and genuinely excited that the restaurant is finally opening. He'll be a huge draw for visitors, locals and essentially anyone who oohs and aahs over the mom 'n' pop spots on DDD. That includes myself," Grace Bascos of Vegas Seven wrote.

"The food-and-drink samples included that ridiculously good burger ("Triple D"? This brilliant burger gets a "Triple A"); the lollipop-cut Fireball Wings spiked with Fireball Whiskey that are sticky and finger-licking good; ahi tuna tacos; and a refreshing and surprisingly light Smoke and Mirrors cocktail that includes Fireball Whiskey," Don Chareunsy at the Las Vegas Sun wrote.
