It was clear the love connection was strong, but MGM Resorts International and Hakkasan Group have now truly cemented their business relationship. The companies have created a new hotel management company, MGM Hakkasan Hospitality, destined to co-work on future hotels and residential proprieties.
In addition to branding the infrastructure and rooms, the Hakkasan Group will drop their own dining and nightlife into the projects from a roster of names that currently includes Pure, Social House, Sake No Hana, Seersucker and naturally their namesake Hakkasan restaurant and club trademark. The group explains upfront these will be "non-gaming" establishments, despite the new casino connection.
In the immediate future, the conglomerate will be focusing on New York, Beverly Hills and London, as well as the under construction Dubai outpost. But local buzz has strongly tipped the Las Vegas Hakkasan imprint would dearly love to expand in some fashion both within the MGM Grand Resort and expand down the Strip. In February, Hakkasan Group bought out the Angel Management Group nightlife and entertainment company. News of extensive renovations to their Pure Nightclub at Caesars Palace is expected soon.
