The Culinary and Bartenders Unions' negotiating committee reached a tentative agreement for a new five-year contract with the Golden Nugget today, three weeks after union members at Downtown casinos, including the Golden Nugget, voted overwhelmingly to authorize strikes.
This is the first agreement the unions have reached with a Downtown casino since old contracts expired last June.
The remaining unsettled properties include Fremont, Main Street Station, Four Queens, Binion's, The Plaza, Las Vegas Club, D Las Vegas, El Cortez and Golden Gate. The Culinary Union is also still working toward reaching a new contract with Brady Linen Services.
Union members picketed in Downtown Las Vegas last Saturday, and union members from all unsettled properties have been signing up for strike benefits and strike picket shifts.
