Tofu Hut Shut Down After SNHD Inspection, 52 Demerits

Tofu Hut, the Korean barbecue at 3920 Spring Mountain Road, was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on April 16.

Inspectors discovered 52 violations during the visit. Among the violations, employees not properly washing their hands, spoiled food, food unprotected from potential contamination, ineffective pest control measures and more.

The restaurant was closed in 2011 by SNHD after a routine inspection. Many of the other inspections since 2002 started as an A grade.

The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
