Two More Restaurants Shut Down by SNHD

Lele's Sandwiches at 305 S. Bruce St. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on April 23 after a routine inspection uncovered 28 demerits.

SNHD inspectors found spoiled food, food unprotected from potential contamination, ineffective pest control measures and more during the inspection.

The restaurant was initially inspected on March 6 and was shut down that day with 36 demerits. A re-inspection on March 20 yielded zero demerits.

Tacos Mexico at 1800 Las Vegas Blvd. S. was shut down by SNHD on April 22 with 46 demerits. Spoiled food, ineffective pest control measures, a lack of hand washing by the staff and more caused the shut down.

The restaurant was shut down in 2007 by SNHD with 55 demerits and has a sketchy record with health inspectors since it first opened in 2002.

The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
