Jim Begley says Rose.Rabbit.Lie. at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is a game changer. He suggests ordering the hot gougères with cheese and truffles, the Waldorf salad and oysters Rockefeller. But surprisingly, its the pasta that he trumpets most. "The duck confit pasta is an ode to satisfying richness with Parmesan cream sauce, while the tubular uni perciatelli is unreal. Bathed in "umami butter" and rife with king crab, it's as over-the-top as RRL itself." [LVW]
Michael Uzmann gives four out of five stars to Andre's at the Monte Carlo. He says the seven-course tasting menu for $135 is a "veritable bargain compared to Le Cirque and Picasso" although without the "bread, cheese and luxuries lavished by Gagnaire, Savoy or Robuchon." He recommends the thermidor, soufflé, offal and game meats. [EE]
HKR heads to Al's Beef, giving it an A grade for atmosphere and service and a B+ for food for an overall A- grade. [LVRJ]
