Goose Island Infiltrates Vegas; Alizé's Bec Fin Dinner

DOWNTOWN — Goose Island introduces some of its newest beers with a kickoff party on Tuesday, May 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Atomic Liquors. Look for Bourbon County Brand Stout '13, Rasselbock '13, Sofie, Matilda, 312 Urban Pale Ale , 312 Urban Wheat, Honker's Ale, IPA, Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout '12 and Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Stout '10. Goose Island follows with a happy hour takeover at Aces & Ales on Tenaya Way on Friday, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. with Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout '12, Lolita '10, Juliet '10, Bourbon County Brand Cherry Rye '12, Bourbon County Brand Stout '09, Bourbon County Brand Stout '13 and Rasselbock '13. PALMS — Alizé hosts a seven-course Bec Fin wine dinner on June 1 with winemaker Jessie Katz of Chalk Hill and Lancaster Estates Wineries. Chefs Mark Purdy and Tammy Alana will feature a one-night-only menu with dishes and desserts created to pair with the wines. The night starts with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and dinner beginning at 7 p.m. Look for a gratiné of Hog Island oysters with Meyer lemon crème fraîche paired with Lancaster Sauvignon Blanc. Next will be white crane greens and herbs with Point Reyes blue cheese, strawberries, spicy walnuts, Sparrow Lane Champagne Vinaigrette that will be accompanied by Roth Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast. For the main courses: sautéed Sonoma foie gras with Vidalia onion-rhubarb marmalade sorrel and toasted zucchini bread with Late Harvest Moscato, EOS, Tears of Dew; pan roasted Liberty Duck breast with peach and duck confit tart tatin, spring pea purée, green pepper and raspberry sauce paired with Roth Merlot, Alexander Valley and finally — the spice crusted CK lamb loin with sautéed ramps, morel mushrooms with fava beans and lamb jus and Lancaster Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. For dessert, guests will be served Bellwether Farms sheep's milk cheese apricot confiture and caraway toast with Syrah, Chalk Hill and a progression of cherries from Frog Hollow Farm Cherry Orchard served with Chalk Hill Estate Semillon Late Harvest.
