Just as promised, the city's third Sambalatte coffee lounge and espresso bar debuts on May Day to serve a loyal local customer base and introduce visitors to one of the most revered specialty coffee joints in Las Vegas.
Located at the newly remodeled front entrance of the Monte Carlo resort, now called The Boulevard, the open plan cobblestone paths, water features and shading trees serve as a preview to the mammoth eight acre Park project being built right next door that will take guests to now under construction $350 million MGM-AEG Arena.
Sambalatte's role is to provide guests entering through the new casino floor entrance, or heading in via the Strip, their finessed range of hot and cold beverages created in a state-of-the-art coffee lab, or as they prefer to call it, "the theater of coffee."
The evolving chalk board menu includes tips for choosing specialty drinks and promotes their "sip for the season," currently the iced Samba Solstice or Herbal Lemonade both priced at $4.75. Blended $5.50 frappes like the Tahitian vanilla and java chip are created by a staff with a fervent passion for working with quality beans.
For snacking, look to pastries, muffins, scones, eclairs and more substantial fare like sandwiches, salads at grab-and-go open food case.
With 3,300 square feet there's room about 80 inside and the tree-filled patio will seat even more. The destination offers flat-screen televisions, free WiFi and multiple power source workstations.
Across from the coffee shop sits other recent additions to the neighborhood, Yusho, 800 Degrees, Double Barrel Roadhouse and right next door, the also just open for business, the BLVD Creamery ice cream store.
