The takeover of the former Sears Retail store on Carson now has two confirmed future tenants. But you'll need to wait until the fall to try them out.
Glutton from chef Bradley Manchester and Vegenation from vegan chef Donald Lemperle will flank the existing and upgraded A Cut Above The Rest barber shop in this partitioned building that dates back to 1955. Original construction permits called for a third restaurant or tavern with a rear patio, but the owner and concept has yet to be revealed.

The confusing project, with erroneously switched addressees on the permits and filed business licenses that register Glutton at residing at each of the three restaurant spaces, is nevertheless in the very capable hands of local team Breslin Builders, who are heading up the design-build.
Glutton promises to be a "neighborhood restaurant to enjoy creative cuisine, kick butt cocktails & craft beers." The original proposal for this strip of Carson called for a soul food restaurant with live music at least twice a week and a 760-square-foot patio with 32 outdoor seats at eight tables to be located on the western side of the building. Eater Vegas speculated this might be the next project from chef Natalie Young whose Eat is located directly across the street, but no paperwork confirms that, or indicates Glutton intends to take a soulful approach to their menu.
The original pitch for Vegenation emphasized "an environmentally conscious theme." Well known local vegan chef Donald Lemperle has been working toward opening a vegan restaurant with an attached juice bar for a number of years, with the ambition of "a deep commitment and drive to serve 'good for you' foods to his beloved community to make them healthier and eco-conscious."
Breslin Builders anticipate the project will debut in the fall.
