After the Cadillac Mexican Cantina & Tequila Bar finally opened at the Golden Nugget following weeks of appearing ready to go, the adjacent Claim Jumper restaurant now has an equally delayed, but official, opening date.
For months, a nicely self-deprecating "Hopefully Soon" sign has stood outside, while inside, table settings were daily laid out for imaginary customers, kept at bay by a velvet security rope. But this set-up has now been replaced with a new sign, announcing the "Grand Opening" will take place on Tuesday, May 20, at 4 p.m.
The resort has been without a designated breakfast, lunch and dinner spot since the 24-hour, never close, Carson Street Café shuttered in September last year.
Claim Jumper operates three other locations in the region, including one at Town Square, featuring a broad menu of casual favorites, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. The chain is owned by the massive Landry's Inc, owners of Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, McCormick & Schmick's, Morton's The Steakhouse, Rainforest Cafe and the Golden Nugget Las Vegas itself. Plus, Chart House and Cadillac Mexican Cantina within their own downtown casino resort.
