A 2,683-square-foot PGA Tour Grill is headed to McCarran International Airport serving up a full menu, golf themed cocktails and tips to help you chip out of a bunker.
First announced as an airport concept in December 2012, their first grill location opened at the San Diego International Airport earlier this month. Each subsequent spot will feature murals themed to the local golfing scene, plenty of TVs showing live action when available and Professional Golfers' Association of America programming when not. The original proposal also called for the menus to be displayed on interactive iPads featuring bonus golf tips.
A combination bar and restaurant, but dubbed a "healthy lifestyle destination" by its owners, a hefty part on the menu emphasizes "items specifically that are 'heart healthy', and have anti-oxidant ingredients, or healthy Omega-3 fats."
Broken down into golf terminology named sections, the San Diego menu includes appetizers listed under "The Approach," like shrimp & mahi ceviche. "On The Green" naturally features salads like "chopped kale pomegranate vinaigrette, fresh avocado, local herbed goat cheese, paprika pumpkin seeds, dried bing cherries."
Entrees include pan seared trout, hickory plank salmon and chargrilled marinated flat iron steak with "sautéed portobello mushrooms, melted gorgonzola cheese, crispy fried onions"
Specialty cocktails include the "High-Loft Lemonade" made with Grey Goose L'orange with muddled fresh mint, lemon and freshly brewed tea and the "19th Hole" is blended with Grey Goose, orange juice, pineapple juice and lemon-lime soda.
Because there is already an PGA Tour Shop at McCarran, the grill will direct customers over to the retailer to buy souvenirs and branded goods. A completion timetable is not yet available.
