Taqueria El Palenque at 2722 E. Lake Mead Blvd. in North Las Vegas was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on April 30 with 57 demerits.
During the routine inspection, SNHD found numerous violations including spoiled food, ineffective pest control measures, inaccurate thermometers, no hot and cold running water and much more.
This isn't the first time inspectors have shut down the restaurant. It happened in 2009 as well.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
