Black Bear Diner is bringing a "welcome bear," new landscaping, murals and an already loyal dining audience to Henderson. The franchise is taking over a former 5,995-square-foot Chili's Grill & Bar located next to the Green Valley Library.
The makeover includes new trees and bushes and a family of custom carved bears living at the rear of the property. A familiar welcoming bear will wave at drivers near the entrance. Painted stucco, cedar paneling, rock veneer and painted murals will help spruce up the exterior. Inside will be a mixture of booths, tables and nine seats at a long counter.
The original Black Bear Diner on the west side operates from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. No completion timetable has been offered for this new expansion.
