Mario Batali Bringing Books For Kids Library to Vegas

New, 1 comment

Mario Batali is about to leave more than just good food in Las Vegas. The chef behind Carnevino, B&B Ristorante and more at the Venetian and Palazzo plans to open his fourth Books For Kids Library and his first in Vegas.

The Mario Batali Foundation and Books For Kids team up to serve preschool age children in an impoverished area of Las Vegas. No location was announced.

Expect the library to feature more than 1,000 books and other learning materials, child-friendly furniture and a "print-rich wall mural."

Still want to help out the foundation during Vegas Uncork'd? The Swing Session Las Vegas and The Beef & Barolo Extravaganza on Saturday both benefit the foundation. The golf classic at Cascata features celebrities and chefs along with food from B&B Burger & Beer, B&B Ristorante, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, all four of Emeril Lagasse's Vegas restaurants and Raku. On Saturday night, the Beef & Barolo Extravaganza comes to Batali's Carnevino Italian Steakhouse at the Palazzo.

Tickets for the Swing Session are $3,500 to $12,500 per person (hey, it's for charity) here and for Beef & Barolo are $250 here.
