The Gamblers General Store is adding a cafe to augment its status as the definitive local destination for all your gambling goods needs. As revealed by Eater Vegas, the 746-square-foot space will sit in the north corner of the store.
Three dining booths will be built, alongside three tables and eight stools facing the rear wall suitable for a spot of quick refreshment. Permission to serve beer and wine is currently working its way through the city license process.
Gambling expert and author Allan Silberstang, owner of the Gamblers Book Club housed inside the store, is behind the project. Silberstang is better known by his gambling book pseudonym Avery Cardoza.
Hours are projected to be 7 a.m to 4 p.m for breakfast and lunch, served every day and during the downtown First Friday festivities they will stay open until 8 or 9 p.m.
The breakfast menu will include bagels, donuts and eggs. At lunch, the specialty will be salads, prepared to order from a choice of three greens, plus 20 items to add to the mix. New York-style heroes will be on offer and there will be a grill to create a limited selection of dishes. Construction has yet to begin on the fast-tracked project.
