There seems to be no stopping that juggernaut Giada, the first restaurant from pint-sized Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis at The Cromwell. Those trying to get a reservation will have to look to July 5, the first opening for a two-top on OpenTable.
Fear not. You can still nab a table at the bar nestled next to the antipasto, bread and pasta stations that greet guests on arrival. Here Giada serves up a menu of cocktails on an iPad named for her grandfather Dino De Laurentiis' movies he produced — Barbarella, Blue Velvet, La Strada or the Hannibal with a nice chianti float. Or try the Giada Cocktail with its pisco, egg whites, apricot preserves and more. All go for $15.
Note that every guest receives an elderflower and prosecco welcome from Giada with their meal.
