The former Cube Event Space used for private parties at the Container Park is being turned into The Perch and will be opened to all. The second-floor food and drink project overlooks The Lawn and the Park's main performance stage. Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh and his Downtown Project are behind the concept.
The current set-up features "a bar, wall-mounted flat screen TV, sofas and counterstools," but Downtown Project favorite Bunnyfish Studios have been given the task to remodel the currently minimally designed space, walled-in by floor to ceiling windows and sitting in a rectangular, not cubed, shape.
Originally intended as private space, it was planned sit above a full-service salon that never materialized on the ground floor. Now, across the park on the third floor, the forthcoming Blowout Dollhouse will cater to some of those needs. No timetable has been announced for completion for either venture.
