Now open, Bound by Salvatore, the new cocktail bar at The Cromwell. Salvatore Calabrese — who worked behind the bars at Dukes, the Library Bar at the Lanesborough Hotel and his own eponymous bar, all in London — is behind the menu here. Some say his martini is the "best in the world."
The circular lobby bar takes center stage in its gold and dark tones. Find low lighting and curtains surrounding the space.
The menu here includes classic cocktails, "never-before-seen" espresso cocktails, champagne libations and signature drinks. Look for the Breakfast Martini, a recipe that comes from Salvatore's wife, who insisted he eat breakfast. His answer? A gin cocktail mixed with orange marmalade, the same topping he uses for his toast. Also featured is the Spicy Fifty, which combines the best of sweet and sour on the palate with a warm finish.
Calabrese's champagne cocktails include The Cromwell Fizz with Macallan Fine Oak Whiskey, lemon juice and orange bitters, topped with Moët & Chandon Impérial Champagne, and the Bunny Bubbles, inspired by Playboy Bunnies, made with raspberry puree and fresh pomegranate.
Also on the menu, espresso cocktails for those who want to stay up all night or want to wake up with a caffeine buzz, each served in a frozen traditional Italian Moka Pot.
