That Yardbird Southern Table & Bar is coming to Las Vegas has been no secret for the past 14 months. After all, the restaurant from 50 Eggs out of Miami has said as much. The question has always been where?
Nine months ago, those rumors pointed to the long, long, long vacant Dos Caminos space as the future home of the fried chicken joint.
Now, with the shutter of Pinot Brasserie, new rumors surfaced that the James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Best New Restaurant and Best Chef South in 2012 and Bon Appétit 50 best new restaurants in 2012 may be headed to the Venetian side of the resort.
A rep from 50 Eggs can't confirm that the rumor is true. Yet. "We will be making company expansion announcements soon but are unable to confirm Yardbird Vegas (or anywhere else for that matter) at this time," a rep says. "News coming in the next few weeks."
In the meantime, gird your stomach for a menu of classic Southern cooking as well as the hospitality that goes with it. Fried chicken is the specialty here, but deviled eggs, fried green tomato BLT, Mama's chicken biscuits, shrimp and grits and chicken, watermelon and waffles make the menu in Miami. The restaurant also serves up brunch on Saturdays and Sundays with dishes such as a cheddar waffle, BLT Benedict casserole and a jar of cornbread.
And naturally, the Eater Vegas tipline is wide open if you're in the know.
