The Sporting House is no more at New York-New York. The sports bar closed yesterday to make way for Shake Shack and Tom's Urban on the plaza anchored by a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Sporting House originally opened in March 2011, taking over the former ESPN Zone space at the resort.
Smashburger founder Tom Ryan is behind the Denver- and LA-based Tom's Urban, a 24-hour diner serving "modern comfort food with an urban twist." The long, long, long-awaited Shake Shack was moved from its original planned location between the Monte Carlo and New York-New York to join the Big Apple-themed resort. Both should open by the end of the year.
Also on the new plaza, Swatch, Stupidiotic, I Love NYNY and Starbucks, as well as Hershey's Chocolate World, which opened today.
