Nine Las Vegas culinary luminaries make their debut in a new ad campaign that appears in the August issue of Bon Appétit, dropping in mailboxes today. Shot over one day inside the former Dos Caminos space at the Palazzo, photographer Art Streiber brought in each chef individually during Vegas Uncork'd in May.
Talk about some heavyweights. Paul Bartolotta, Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Savoy, Daniel Boulud, Hubert Keller, Susan Feniger, Mary Sue Milliken, Buddy Valastro and Mario Batali celebrate the "Glitz. Glamour. Gluttony." of the dining scene in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Convention & Visitor's Authority put together the photo shoot, building the set in one day and shooting the next. "We wanted to go for that high-end Vanity Fair, everyone in a gown and with the Rolling Stone edge of a rockers' banquet look," says Tom Dietz with R&R Partners, the agency behind the LVCVA campaigns. "There was no other time that they were all together in one location."
Paul Bartolotta from Bartolotta Ristorante Di Mare at Wynn Las Vegas holds his catch of the day, brought over from the restaurant for the shoot. He wears his own suit in the photo.
Giada De Laurentiis from Giada at The Cromwell puts her knife to creative use. Even with a rack of gowns for her to choose from, De Laurentiis honed in on this form-fitting dress. All the clothing came from Saks Fifth Avenue at Fashion Show.
Guy Savoy from Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace is having a Hamlet moment with some oyster mushrooms.
Daniel Boulud from DB Brasserie at the Venetian demonstrates his saber skills, using his own knife. Boulud loved his smoking jacked so much that LVCVA gave it to him as a gift. Apparently Batolotta and Boulud were shooting at the same time and horsed around quite a bit during the shoot.
Hubert Keller from Fleur by Hubert Keller at Mandalay Bay toasts to your good health.
Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken from Border Grill at Mandalay Bay celebrate like the Too Hot Tamales they are. Susan wears her own funky pants in this shot.
Buddy Valastro from Buddy V's Ristorante at the Palazzo and Carlo's Bakery at the Venetian takes a bite from one of his own cakes.
Mario Batali from B&B Burger & Beer, B&B Ristorante, Carnevino and Otto Pizzeria wears not only his orange Crocs but a bow tie made of farfalle.
