SkinnyFats Replaces Meat Chix and Wieners

In the battle of kooky names to attract your attention, this switcheroo wins some points. The second outpost of fast and healthy concept restaurant SkinnyFats from chef Josh Green and owner Reed Allen Slobusky will take over from the less healthy conscious Meat Chix & Wieners.

The 2,477-square-foot project will occupy a corner spot at the Orange Grove at Rhodes Ranch commercial center.

The SkinnyFats team describe their mission as "healthy and happy menu items that cater to a variety of dietary needs... melting pot of cultural favorites with thoughtful ingredients and savory flavors." Their westside location debuted in June 2013.

Signage on the outside of the construction promises an opening is "coming soon."

Update: Reed Allen Slobusky updates that construction should be finished by late August with an early September debut anticipated.
