Coming in with the most demerits so far this year, Casa Mexican Restaurant at 3050 E. Desert Inn Road was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on Aug. 11 with 60 demerits.
Among the violations, spoiled food, no hot and cold running water, food held at the wrong temperature, food unprotected from potential contamination and much, much more.
This is the first time SNHD has shut down the restaurants since inspections started there in 2005.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
