Even the big chains can't escape the Southern Nevada Health District. The Long John Silvers and A&W at 240 E. Lake Mead Pkwy. in Henderson were shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on Aug. 15 for an imminent health hazard described as "an other condition or circumstance that may endanger public health." This is the first time SNHD has shut down the restaurant since it opened in 2007.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
