Joy Behar Talks Favorite Restaurants, Shockers and More

We've enlisted comedians, some based here and others who spend their time on the road and come through Vegas, to share their recommendations on great places to dine in Sin City for a feature dubbed Comedian Confidential.

The host of The View Joy Behar is a comedic original who's made appearances both on stage and screen. She received an Emmy for her performance on The View and hosted her own talk shows, The Joy Behar Show and Say Anything. Tonight and tomorrow night, she performs as part of Lipshtick — The Perfect Shade of Standup at the Venetian. Here she talks about some of her favorite restaurants in Vegas, one experience with a fan who wanted to meet her and more.

How often do you get to Las Vegas?
I usually get to Las Vegas once or twice a year. Usually to work but also sometimes just to hang out.

Do you remember the first time you visited Vegas?
The first time I visited Vegas I was chaperoning a teen tour across the country with my ex-husband. All I can say is fortunately what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas.

Where do you like to dine in Vegas?
I like Rao's but also any top notch restaurant where I don't have to leave the hotel.

Do your fans bother you while you're eating?
I am constantly being approached by curious fans. One time I was eating spare ribs and a woman sat down in the booth with us. She said she wanted to get a closer look. Unfortunately my face was covered in duck sauce at the time.

Do you ever unwind after a show?
As soon as the show is over I usually head straight to the casino to play blackjack or craps.

What was the first thing that shocked you in Las Vegas?
The first thing that shocked me was the heat.

What can we expect from your show?
At the show you can expect to laugh and my language might be a little saltier than it was on The View.
