Family performers Mama's Wranglers are planning to raise the roof and bring a dinner theater to Henderson filled with plenty of clogging. Located in the Valle Verde Plaza, anchored by a Circle K and Purrfect Auto, a 3,720-square-foot banquet hall will be transformed into an urban "barn" where the Jackson Family Band & Cloggers will host a 6 p.m. evening show. The schedule is hoped to be six times a month, at first, with the potential for the performances to become nightly. Dining will be available for show watchers.
Dances will be held eight times a month and the space can be rented for parties, weddings or corporate events. When the Mama's Wranglers performers are working, the emphasis is strictly on "wholesome entertainment" with "absolutely NO SMOKING, DRINKING OR GAMBLING." The Jackson Family repertoire includes country-focused music, singing and clog-intensive dance numbers building to a patriotic finale.
Originally the six child group were named The Kid Fiddlers, but added enough new instruments to their skillset to grow out of the name. Their biography promises, "don't worry though, there will still be plenty of great fiddling."
Ground breaking is projected for Aug. 30, with an aim for an October opening night.
