Poppy Den, the Asian fusion restaurant from former season seven Top Chef contestant Angelo Sosa, shuttered at Tivoli Village earlier this week. Mulitiple reports coming across the Eater Vegas hotline tell of the closing. Sosa tells Eater Vegas via email:

It is with great sadness that after almost 2 years. Poppy Den has had to close its doors. Myself, my partner and our amazing staff, along with Tivoli worked tiredlessly to bring eclectic Asian cuisine to Las Vegas community. It was an honor to serve Las Vegas as well as being neighbors to many great restaurants and Chefs in Tivoli that have always been supportive and continued to create amazing cuisine for us all. It was exciting to be off-Strip at Tivoli Village and we all were passionate about this project. I look forward to exciting opportunities ahead and most importantly look forward to serving locals of Las Vegas very soon!

The restaurant, which also had the nightlife venue The Den, opened right before New Year's Eve in 2012. No word on what will take its place at the shopping center that has seen restaurants such as Hops & Harvest, Radio City Pizza, Petra Greek Taverna and Double Helix shutter since opening.

Sosa's partner Ken Henderson also changed Pizza Lounge to Pizza Bar.
