Scarlet's Alycia Sutton Shares Her Favorite Cocktail Bars

Sin City is home to a lot of restaurants and bars, but there are tons of hidden gems that the majority of Las Vegans aren't unearthing. To help guide us to these potential discoveries, we've enlisted some of our city's beverage players to share their recommendations for a random feature dubbed Cocktail Confidential. Know a bartender who wants to share some top cocktail spots? The tipline is open.

Alycia Sutton has worked at the Palms for nine years, starting as a hostess at N9NE Steakhouse. In 2010, Sutton transferred to Nove Italiano, initially as the host supervisor and soon after becoming an assistant restaurant manager. She started studying infusions and bartending there, and last March, she left Nove to lead the infusion program at Scarlet, the tiny bar right outside N9NE Steakhouse. When she's not at Scarlet, you can find her waiting tables at Herbs & Rye under industry professionals Nectaly Mendoza and Alennry Iniguez. Here she shares three of her favorite

Which bars or lounges do you turn to when you're not working?
Chandelier Bar at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, The Boozery at the Container Park, and local bars like PT's

Which cocktails are most memorable?
The Chandelier Bar has a great selection of specialty cocktails. They have this amazing drink made with whiskey, fresh blueberry, and egg whites that is delicious. The Boozery has a pretty unique cocktail menu as well, mixing beer and whiskey turns out a lot better than you'd think. Their "Alcoholic Dictionary" is one of my favorites. Also, they make a mean Bloody Mary in the early afternoons!

Why do you enjoy going there?
I enjoy the Chandelier Bar because it's an excuse to get dressed up and feel fancy for the night! Also, you're on the Strip so you can play tourist.

I absolutely LOVE going to the Container Park because of all the fun culture that's downtown. It's such a diverse place. There are so many cool shops and good eats. I always head straight for The Boozery before going anywhere else because I know I'll get good drinks and I like their patio. It's perfect for watching some of the many live performances that they offer in the grassy stage area. After 9 p.m. is 21-plus so I can go down the three-story slide without the kiddies in the way!

As for local bars like PT's, I'm not one to turn down a game of pool or meeting up with friends, there's so many so it's an easy place to meet up.
