It sounds like a dramatic upgrade, but for the tiny Trattoria Reggiano Italian restaurant inside the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes, doubling its size isn't a massive undertaking. The 527-square-foot space will occupy 1,227 square feet, when it finally extends into the adjacent Houdini's Magic Shop shuttered retail space. The magic retailer is relocating a few steps away into a corner property.
Work on the restaurant is estimated to run $350,000 in construction costs. Currently, the majority of seating is placed in the public walkway of the mall. A fall debut is promised for the remodel which will help with the space crunch.
Owned by franchise king Frank Bonnano's Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group this was his team's first full-service restaurant in the city. Local rumors have also suggested the Trattoria Reggiano brand will also be extended to the under construction Downtown Summerlin complex, joining his Bonanno's Pizza outpost.
