The ongoing, property-wide tweaks and upgrades continue at the MGM Grand. The resort has finally replaced TV star Tom Colicchio's 'Wichcraft, but with a concept devoid of any celebrity chef pedigree. The Top Chef judge's sandwich shop shuttered in March of this year after almost a decade on the property. Grab & Go Express is the official name of the replacement, following months of being run as a nameless pop-up service to meet demands of conventioneers.
Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the limited, but value-minded menu includes breakfast pastries priced at $4, $8 salads like Cobb and Mediterranean, $4 tomato and basil or chicken noodle soups and a range of $8 sandwiches including tuna salad, ham and cheddar or tomato and mozzarella. A fresh pressed juice offers a "daily blend," orange, honeydew or watermelon thirst quencher for $4.
'Wichcraft still operates 15 locations in New York and one in San Francisco.
