Is Pasta Pirate Headed for Davy Jones's Locker?

Strong recent rumors the Pasta Pirate seafood, steak and pasta restaurant at the California Hotel & Casino will be shuttered and replaced with a new concept have gained a little more credence.

Plans for a new Noodle House restaurant concept to be slotted into the hotel are working their way through the city's approval process. The compact downtown casino appears to offer little spare space to build out a new restaurant, rather than replace one of the existing dining options.

The Cal currently features the famous Aloha Specialties Hawaiian-focused restaurant, the 24-hour Market Street Cafe, the more upscale Redwood Bar & Grill, Cal Club, an Asian and American fast snack spot, and Lappert's Ice Cream, one of the finest ice cream venders in the city.

No timetable for the possible switcheroo is currently available. Naturally, the tipline is open for more details.
