La Scala Spot to Be Revived as Guido's Ristorante

With a long Las Vegas history, the site of Italian restaurant La Scala in the Mark I Towers on Desert Inn Road will be revived. Shuttered in November last year, the new owners are hoping to be up and running by early as Oct. 1 with the newly renamed Guido's Ristorante.

Guido's owners are listed as Guido Mantilla and Dr. Ana Farias co-owners of the Clinica Naturista Natural Clinic. Mantilla is also a radio host on KRLV 1340 AM. The direction of the new menu has yet to be revealed.

The interior was once "loosely themed" after the Teatro alla Scala opera house in Milan, Italy.

Originally named Vesuvio, La Scala's legend included its "table No. 9," the favorite seat for frequent guest Frank Sinatra and a history of celebrity and infamous customers including mobster Sam Giancana and actor Joe Pesci.
