For the second time this year, Pho Little Saigon at 3775 Spring Mountain Road was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District, this time earning 53 demerits.

Inspectors found spoiled food, food unprotected from potential contamination, ineffective pest controls, employees improperly washing their hands and more during the routine inspection on Sept. 16.

Back in April, Pho Little Saigon was shut down with 61 demerits.

This marks the sixth time SNHD has shut down the restaurant. The first shutdown — 55 demerits — came in 2009 with additional closures in 2011, with one shutdown after 62 demerits, and 2012.

Food truck Los Amigos was shut down by SNHD after a re-inspection on Sept. 16. Inspectors found the staff didn't properly wash their hands, food unprotected from potential contamination, an inadequate number of hand washing facilities and more during the revisit. This is the first time the truck was shut down by SNHD.

The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
