That was a quick switcheroo. Replacing the recently shuttered Xtreme Sushi & Sterling Steakhouse on Eastern Avenue will be Lucky Foo's Restaurant & Bar, billed as an "American Izakaya."
Aiming for a fall or winter debut, the concept's chef and partner is Shawn Giordano, whose resume includes stints at Spago Beverly Hills, Granita and Trattoria del Lupo at Mandalay Bay and as a private chef for clients including photographer Annie Liebovitz.
Current project renderings feature dining areas using "Asian artifacts and mosaics amidst warm woods and vibrant fabrics." The unannounced menu is described as "tantalizing and trendsetting Asian flavors designed for the traditional American palate."
Also connected to the project is Michael Fuller, a former vice president at N9NE Group.
