Judging from the eager fans on Facebook, Las Vegas wants some Yakiniku Japanese barbecue. Gyu-Kaku (pronounced GEW-KAH-KOO) is oh-so-close to opening this month with its meats prepared tableside over a flaming charcoal grill at Spring Mountain Road and South Decatur Boulevard. Harami skirt steak in a miso marinade and Kalbi short ribs in a tare soy marinade as well as pork, lamb, duck, chicken and shrimp all await their turns over the fire. While Gyu-Kaku, which means horn of the bull in Japanese, hasn't announced an opening date, you can still take a look at the caged dining room before it opens. Go ahead, wander around.
