Announced to shutter in the spring, Empress Court Chinese restaurant has finally and quietly closed at Caesars Palace. Preliminary construction work has begun on the eagerly anticipated and long in the making arrival of celebrity staple Mr Chow.
Empress Court specialized in Hong Kong-style fresh Cantonese seafood and their brand used to include restaurants in Vancouver, California and eight in mainland China.
Accessed via private elevators, this prized second floor location includes views overlooking the resort's Garden of the Gods pool oasis.
Once planned as the dining centerpiece of the failed Harmon Hotel from MGM Resorts, Mr Chow will bring their famed Beijing duck, hand-pulled noodles, chicken satay, green prawns and a long list of famous, loyal diners.
Created in London in 1968, the Mr Chow empire extends to Malibu, Beverly Hills, New York and Miami. Despite the late start, the official word is still confident of an early 2015 debut.
