Hong Kong Garden Seafood & BBQ Cafe at 3407 S. Jones Blvd. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on Sept. 17 with a whopping 58 demerits.
Inspectors found staff didn’t wash their hands properly, spoiled food, commercially manufactured food from unapproved sources, ineffective pest control measures and more.
In June, the restaurant earned a C grade, but the restaurant was quickly re-inspected to a zero demerit A grade.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
