Get Dessert Before Dinner Saturday Night

The Girl Scouts' annual fundraiser brings nine pastry chefs, shortbread cookie dishes.

Nine pastry chefs from all over Las Vegas compete in the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada’s annual fundraising event, Dessert Before Dinner, this Saturday night. Before dinner is even served, the chefs plan to serve up desserts made with Girl Scout shortbread cookies, the flavor of the year. Guests can then vote for their favorite.

This year’s chefs include Jeanette Droegmoeller from Bellagio, Allessandra Madeira from Bratalian Neopolitan Cantina, Marisela Espinosa from Caesars Palace, Vivian Chang from Downtown Grand, Marie Yonge from Giada, Tamira White from Hard Rock, Kimberly Vitou from MGM Grand, Cynthia Werth from Stratosphere and Brittany Givero from Three Square.

The event at 6 p.m. in the Palace Ballroom at Caesars Palace includes a cocktail reception; a silent auction; a program including a keynote speech from Jan Jones Blackhurst, former Las Vegas mayor and executive vice president of government and communications at Caesars Entertainment; and a performance by celebrity impressionist and Mirage headliner Terry Fator.
