It's been home to the Emergency Room Lounge, Underworld, Wicked Pizza and more, but the now officially open Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ is hoping its Chinatown location will last a lot longer than the long series of local bars and lounges who've struggled in this spot.

Located at 3550 S. Decatur Blvd., the first Las Vegas location from the national Japanese barbecue restaurant chain features a complete remodel. The owners have been bombarded with questions from Facebook fans asking when it will debut and now it has, with a dinner menu at first, building to lunch and happy hour options in the future.

Guests prepare their own meats and vegetables on a grill at each table. Noodle bowls, and rice dishes are also available for those who don't want to keep an eye on the cooking. Orders can be made à la carte with choices like "beef short ribs, skirt steak, tongue, chicken and seafood." Package deals, best for two or more, can include fried calamari, chicken cheese fondue, shrimp garlic and a "mushroom medley."

Gyu-Kaku also serves cocktails, sake and desserts like S'mores and green tea mille crêpes.

Current hours are 5 p.m. to midnight daily.
