Il Mulino, the Italian restaurant at the Forum Shops at Caesars, came within two points of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Sept. 4.
SNHD inspectors found spoiled food, food unprotected from potential contamination, ineffective pest control measures, staff not properly washing their hands and more during the visit.
In 2012, Il Mulino received 36 demerits from SNHD, upgraded to an A grade after a re-inspection 10 days later. The restaurant has two other C grade inspections since 2004.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
