You need to get excited about Inyo Asian Variety Restaurant, which opened on New Year’s Day in the former home of the Maple Tree Cafe in Chinatown. So far, the restaurant is keeping most dishes secret, but you can find a menu of Japanese, Korean and Thai food.
House-made shrimp shumai, ponzu salmon, pork potstickers, braised pork belly with daikon, green papaya, tuna tartare, agedashi tofu, kaiso salad, sunomono, and Thai-, Korean-, and Japanese-style wings are just some of the dishes you can find on the menu.
Inyo brought in Gregg Fortunato as the head chef. He’s worked at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Little Buddha at the Palms.
Owners Chih "Peter" Chen, who was born in Taiwan, and his wife, Mayumi Miyoshi from Japan, promise more than an Asian restaurant, but an experience where you can travel without leaving the table. He describes Inyo as "a wildly diverse menu."
