Hong Kong Garden Seafood & BBQ Cafe at 3407 S. Jones Blvd. is back in the sights of the Southern Nevada Health District. Last September, the restaurant was shut down by SNHD with 58 demerits. While a three demerit re-inspection got the restaurant back open, on Jan. 21, SNHD returned and gave the restaurant 38 demerits.
Inspectors found spoiled food, commercially manufactured food from unapproved sources, food unprotected from potential contamination, staff not properly washing their hands, ineffective pest control measures and more.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
