So much for Alex Stratta’s partnership with Preferred Restaurant Brands. Robin Leach reported that the chef, who was planning to open Tapas by Alex Stratta at Tivoli Village and Alex Stratta Italian Steakhouse at the Gramercy, parted ways with the investment team.
“Chef Alex Stratta and Preferred Restaurant Brands have decided it would be best to pursue their objectives separately to go in different directions and Stratta is happy with the resolution,” Stratta said in a statement.
That doesn’t mean his tapas concept, taking over the former Poppy Den space, is dead in the water. “This parting ways doesn’t change my vision. I’m still committed to offering elevated off the Strip dining, including opening Tapas in Tivoli Village in spring 2015 along with my team,” he says.
What that means for his Italian steakhouse remains to be seen. Developing.
