Alex Stratta's full force return to Las Vegas dining scene has featured some recent drama and confusion and the chef now adds expansion plans to his busy year ahead.
The former Michelin-starred chef of Alex and Stratta at Wynn Las Vegas is adding yet another new venture to his portfolio, making it three new restaurants he'll launch later this year.
Over at the Gramercy residential, dining and retail "urban village," his Alex Stratta Italian Steakhouse fine dining project is still under construction, but the chef has announced it will be now joined by a separate, "more casual eatery concept." Details are still to be revealed.
The two restaurants will eventually neighbor a Dean & DeLuca-inspired DW Market from Dalton Wilson and Bryce Krausman of DW Bistro, coffee shop Holley’s Cuppa and a second Las Vegas outpost of Pinches Tacos. Residential units at the Gramercy are expected to begin leasing in March, while the phased development continues to be completed.
Stratta recently broke up his partnership with Preferred Restaurant Brands, who were behind the steakhouse and the chef's other new venture, Tapas by Alex Stratta at Tivoli Village. Stratta maintains that despite the break, the two projects are moving forward. At Tivoli Village, the restaurant will take over the former Poppy Den space and is aiming for a spring 2015 debut. The timetable over at the Gramercy has not been announced.
