Downtown Las Vegas celebrates the tastes of the Hawaiian islands and more this weekend and next weekend with the Hawaii Festival at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. The four-day event from the D Las Vegas on Jan. 10-11 and Jan. 16-17 features a $10,000 Holoholo Slot Tournament, performances by popular comedians Joey Guila and Mel Cabang, and more.
Throughout the festival, find Kālua-style dishes, Hawaiian teriyaki, poke, saimin, Spam musubi and more at booths and local food trucks. Pop-up boutiques feature selections of artisanal items such as Hawaiian and jade jewelry, pareo beach wraps, aloha shirts, tapa clothing, traditional games and more. Halau troupes will perform complex dance routines each day with traditional Hawaiian hula, Tahitian and Polynesian styles. Live bands will take the stage nightly at 7 p.m., including Barry Black on Saturday, New Age Tribe on Sunday, Mahi on Friday, Jan. 16, and Baba B on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The event is open from noon to 8 p.m. this Saturday, Sunday and Saturday, Jan. 17 and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16.
