The Boulevard Mall has begun work on creating new casual dining options accented by "a cozy outside seating area for great people watching," but over at the 58,000-square-foot, long-shuttered Dillard's department store space, the dining will be much, much more casual.
The 11th themed restaurant from California-based John’s Incredible Pizza Co. is headed to the mall, with a concept described as bridging the "Chuck E. Cheese and Dave & Busters demographic."
One price admission will provide all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta and fried chicken serving in six dining rooms, including the sports themed "Hall of Fame" and "Cabin Fever," a "cozy cabin mountain getaway." Those areas are designed for adults to hide away from the more kid-friendly sections. Beer and wine is hoped to be added to the adult mix.
The huge space will be filled with games of chance, spitting out winning tickets that can redeemed for prizes. But John's is better known for its larger indoor rides and laser tag, mini golf, bowling and bumper cars. The attraction will also host its resident mascot, IncrediBear, a specialist in impromptu boogie dancing and handing out prize tickets.
Designed with large groups in mind, the self-serve menu features 20 different pizza options such as the "signature Spicy Peanut Butter Pizza." Pasta toppings include "sauces like Marinara, Meat or Alfredo." Also available, fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, potato fritters with baked beans and soups offered from a roster of "Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken Enchilada, Baked Potato Chowder, and Chili." Plus, a salad bar and strawberry swirl cake and cinnamon rolls for dessert.
The project has just begin the construction and design approval process.
