They are currently only operating in soft mode, but Mishawaka, Ind.-born Bruno's Pizza is serving up pies, slices and bread sticks in Spring Valley while they approach an official opening day.

Taking over the shuttered 1,164-square-foot Pizza Gourmet space at the Fort Apache and Peace Way Shopping Center, the team operates under a motto of "real pizza, real people. Really Good." This is the company's first expansion out of their home turf.

Brunos' was created by the Cataldo family in 1975 and focused around the northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan area known as Michiana. They now run 12 branches, including two in South Bend serving their original "thick" style, but also offering a "thin" alternative.
