La Mojarra Loca & Grill Bar, the Mexican restaurant at 2797 S. Maryland Pkwy., came within one point of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Friday, Oct. 8.
SNHD inspectors found spoiled food, some commercially approved products from an unapproved source, staff not properly washing their hands, ineffective pest control measures and much more.
This is the first SNHD inspection for this third location of La Mojarra in Las Vegas.
The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
