Rumors The Carmel Room has been readying for a move and an upgrade are looking much more likely with news a permit has been filed for permission to demolish the steakhouse and replace it with a slots room.
Located just off the floor of the Rampart Casino, The Carmel Room is rumored to be moving further away from the gaming floor and into the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa section of the complex, taking over the current Ceres breakfast-only restaurant.
Unlike the steakhouse, Ceres features a wide open design, with views of the resort's waterfalls and gardens and pitches itself as an asset for guests at the hotel, who operate independently from the adjacent Rampart Casino. Music-filled Sunday brunches at Ceres have proved a popular attraction for local residents in recent years, while The Carmel Room has been the Rampart's signature dining restaurant for more than a decade.
No timetable or confirmation of the upgrades has been announced.
